The Department of Public Works and Highways-Region VI (DPWH-6) assured safe roads for revelers heading to Iloilo City, ahead of the upcoming Dinagyang Festival highlights, which begin on Friday, January 26, and continue through January 28.

DPWH-6 Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr. said potholes and cracks have been checked and canals have been declogged along national roads.

Similar preparations were also made in Kalibo, Aklan, site of the annual Ati-Atihan Festival, which ended over the weekend.

For the festivities in Aklan, curb and gutter markings were repainted and the Kalibo Bridge II was inspected to ensure there was proper lighting./PLL, WDJ
