The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) warned overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families of scammers posing as agency personnel claiming they can fast-track OWWA benefits.
According to OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac, the perpetrators charge a P6,000 processing fee.
Benefits offered by the government agency include disability and dismembership entitlements, scholarships, the OFW-Enterprise Development and Loan Program, among others.
He noted, such processes are handled by the OWWA directly and suggested, for inquiries into programs and services, to only communicate directly with the office.
“Avoid scammers and fixers,” Cacdac advised on Twitter./PLL, WDJ
