Former Philippine Army 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) commander, Major General Jon Aying (ret.), was yesterday approved by the Negros Occidental Provincial Board as a provincial consultant on internal security and public safety concerns.
Aying was forced into mandatory retirement last December 31. Brigadier General Dino Dolina has since assumed the post as 3ID commander.
The Negros Occidental Provincial Board recently renewed contracts for 14 other consultants, which, according to Board Member Salvador Escalante, Jr., comes with a monthly cost of P600,000 per month.
Aying will be receiving a monthly stipend of P42,000, which is typical compensation, as it ranges between P42,000 and P52,000. However, Rafael Coscolluela, who consults on investment promotions, trade and export development, and inter-agency coordination, is paid P91,000 a month; the same goes for finance and administrative concerns consultant Roy Balicas./DGB, WDJ
