Following the conclusion of the Negros Occidental leg of the Provincial Communication Officers Network (PCO Net), which was held in Bacolod City earlier this month, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Ana Marie Banaag and Provincial Communication Officers Network Director Pebbles Duque paid a courtesy call on Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III last week.
While in Bacolod City, the pair conducted PCO Net, which seeks to keep lines of communication open between the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and local government units, schools, and information offices, ensuring the policies and projects of the administration are disseminated widely and accurately.
“We want to avoid misinformation since it’s very rampant nowadays,” said Banaag. “We are here to make you feel that we haven’t left Iloilo behind.”
In response, the mayor expressed confidence in the work the PCOO is doing in terms of prioritizing communication.
“They really want to have open communication with us,” Espinosa affirmed. “This is just the beginning of a good partnership.”/PLL, WDJ
