According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bacolod City District Engineering Office, the government has set aside P1.5 billion for flood control projects along the Magsungay and Cabacawan Rivers and in Barangays Mandalagan and Pahanocoy.
Drainage systems will also be installed along Circumferential Road, the Bacolod City boundary road, and Lacson Street.
Office head, Engr. Abraham Villareal, said the projects are expected to be completed within the year.
Meanwhile, he also pointed out ongoing problems with informal settlers who have set up residence in the affected areas.
Villareal said they plan on filing injunction orders against those who refuse to relocate./NC, WDJ
