Marañon: Walk or ride a bike as an alternative to driving
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. said he is not worried about rising fuel prices as a result of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, noting local price hikes are not as high as those in neighboring provinces.
He also defended the law, saying the new taxes “guaranteed to return to the people.”
In terms of rising fuel prices, the governor suggested alternate modes of transportation.
“Either you bike or walk,” Marañon said. “It’s healthy.”/DGB, WDJ
