Lugtu: Filipinos are not well-informed of the dangers online
By Paulo Loreto Lim
According to Reynaldo Lugtu, an advisory board member for Global Chamber Manila, a collection of CEOs, executives, and professionals focused on global trade and investment, the Philippines ranks tenth among countries subject to cyberattack.
“[The Philippines] is not well-informed of the dangers lurking online,” he explained. “We easily open emails or click links without knowing the risks.”
Lugtu noted, the type of behavior makes one vulnerable to cyberattack.
The group plans on hosting a forum on the matter at the end of the month, seeking to inform individuals about potential dangers on the internet.
Topping the list, which was compiled using data from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), saw Canada as the most attacked country, followed by India and the United Kingdom.
