The son of a town councilor for Pototan, Iloilo died last Saturday after a tree branch fell on their vehicle in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as seven-year-old Ken Marion Peñaflorida, son of Pototan Municipal Councilor Kent Roger Peñaflorida.

Traffic investigations by Police Station 5 (PS5) reported the councilor, along with his wife Maureen and 10 other family members, were heading to the Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City when a large branch fell on their their sports utility vehicle, crushing the front of the vehicle.

The family was immediately rushed to the Bacolod Doctor’s Hospital, where the younger Peñaflorida later died due to a head injury.

The councilor’s wife, meanwhile, suffered a minor injury to her eye./DGB, WDJ
