The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) proposed the privatization of impounding illegally-parked and stalled vehicles, believed to be a solution to the traffic problem in the city.
“The fastest way to go into clamping, towing, and impounding is to entrust these activities to private companies,” said BTAO head, Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche.
He cited City Ordinance No. 338 and City Ordinance No. 09-17-818, which permits a private company be commission to perform such activities under the direct supervision of BTAO.
BTAO suggested the chosen company would be contracted for five years and provided an accreditation certificate.
Acebuche added, the private company should share revenues with the city government./NC, WDJ
