Following reports claiming Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters issued a relief order for Moises Padilla municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Alan Reloj, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., affirmed no such order has been received.
Earlier, Castil said Reloj would be relieved if charges were filed against him, in light of the situation regarding the arrest and delayed release of Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo and her husband, Felix Mathias Yulo.
Last month, the municipal police chief led the arrest of the city official at a police checkpoint, where firearms, explosives, and suspected drugs were seized from the Yulos’ vehicle.
The couple later tested negative for illegal drugs and the substance recovered from their vehicle also tested negative for shabu.
The vice mayor and her husband were released last Saturday, however, the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office release order was issued on December 29, 2017
Karol Joseph Chiu, legal counsel for the Yulos, earlier said his clients planned to file multiple criminal and administrative cases against Reloj.
He added, the charges will result in a relief order for Reloj and an investigation into his actions./DGB, WDJ
