Local anti-graft and corruption group watchdog Task Force Kasanag (TFK) filed a complaint with the Office of the President against Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and several city officials in connection with P8 million in cash gifts distributed to members of the Bacolod City Government Employees Union (BCGEU).
TFK National Commander John Chiong called for an investigation into what he considers an “anomalous use of government funds.”
The BCGEU was earlier provided with P8 million during their year-end assessment activity, where they also received grocery packs and cash incentives.
Chiong noted the public outrage in response to P6 million used by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and compared it to the allegations hurled against the city mayor./DGB, WDJ
