A fire destroyed nine homes at Purok 3, Lampirong, and Magsungay in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City on Saturday night.

According to Bureau of Fire Protection-Bacolod City (BFP-Bacolod) chief, Fire Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, the fire started with an unattended candle in the living room of a house owned by Gilbert Layan.

The fire quickly spread to neighboring residences as structures were mostly composed of light materials.

Firefighters put out the fire at 8:36 p.m. that evening, with no casualties reported.

Estimated damage is said to be P200,000./NC, WDJ
