The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution in its regular session yesterday, commending the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) on its implementation of the ‘Iwas Paputok’ campaign, a program by the Department of Health (DOH) seeking to reduce the number of firecracker-related injuries, especially during the holiday season.
According to the resolution, authored by City Councilor Em Ang, “The number of firecracker-related injuries in Bacolod City significantly dropped to four cases this year from fifteen recorded cases last year.”
The legislation also credited the CHO for distributing leaflets and pamphlets, publishing press releases, and conducting interviews regarding the dangers of firecrackers./PLL, WDJ
