A businesswoman was shot dead by unidentified suspects at the New Town Subdivision in Barangay 1, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

The fatality was identified as 50-year-old Aileen Tanjay of the said residence.

Initial investigations showed Tanjay was aboard a passenger cab when she was shot several times by unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle.

The victim sustained several gunshot wounds across different parts of her body.

After being brought to the hospital for treatment, she was later declared dead around 10:10 p.m. that evening.

The suspects, meanwhile, fled after the incident./NC, WDJ
