Kiosks for the upcoming Dinagyang Festival 2018, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, begin going on sale next week, January 8.
“We are now in the process of marking the kiosks,” said Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI) kiosk-in-charge Joeffrey Agilles. “For those who will be applying, they should bring [their] payment on January 8 because we will not accept reservation.”
A kiosk measuring 2.5 meters by 3 meters will cost P2,000 and vendors can only apply for two kiosks.
Payments can be made at the Dinagyang Lounge, located towards the rear of the Freedom Grandstand.
Once paid, vendors will be provided a receipt and permit.
In addition, street vendors will also be required to acquire a permit in order to operate.
“Before we issue their permit, there is an agreement form which states that one of their responsibilities is to maintain the cleanliness of their area and placing garbage cans,” Agilles noted. “They should also ensure that the food they sell are fresh and are properly covered.”
Kiosks will be placed along Iznart Street, from the Arroyo Fountain to the Plazoleta Gay; Valeria Street; Delgado Street; and Solis Street.
Meanwhile, tickets offering access to the two-day highlights, which include the Kasadyahan Festival and Ati Tribes competition, went on sale yesterday.
The festival is scheduled to run from January 26 to 28./WDJ
