Two killed in Jaro car crash on New Year’s Day

After ringing in 2018, a car crash shortly after midnight in Barangay Tacas, located in the Jaro district of Iloilo City, killed two and injured two.
Police identified the driver, Robert Villamor, as one of the casualties; the second fatality remains unidentified. Meanwhile, the injured were identified as Evaniel Buyco and Michael Montelibano.
According to authorities, Villamor was driving along the Circumferential Road, headed towards the Mandurriao district, when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a gutter and subsequently crashed into the perimeter wall of a private residence.
Law enforcement is still looking into whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or if the crash was a result of speeding.
