According to an autopsy report released by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) last week, slain medical examiner for the Land Transportation Office (LTO) branch at Robinsons Place Bacolod, Dr. Felix Valenzuela, who was found dead in his car last week in Bago City, was reportedly stabbed in the chest 13 times.
Dr. West Edquila, who conducted the autopsy, said the wounds were deep and were likely caused by an ice pick.
He also noted bruises to the victim’s hands and a wound in his mouth, which may have been caused by a punch or from having his head slammed into the dashboard.
After initial findings showed no bullet or knife wound, Bago City police chief, Police Chief Inspector Joefer Cabural, has since ruled out natural causes as the cause of death.
He also ruled out robbery as a motive, after Valenzuela’s valuables were accounted for.
In addition, new eyewitness accounts claimed the vehicle was being operated by a “lean man” wearing a “bull cap,” who was seen driving back and forth three times before exiting the vehicle and fleeing the crime scene.
The unidentified man is currently being considered a primary suspect by police.
Valenzuela previously served as a Bago City councilor and city health officer./DGB, WDJ
