A sugarcane laborer was killed after being shot by three unidentified suspects at Hacienda Granada in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Bernie Cris Elarde, a resident of Cadiz City.

Investigations revealed the victim was shot working in a sugarcane field.

Elarde died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds to his head and left shoulder.

Recovered from the crime scene were two pieces of fired cartridge casing.

The police are still conducting an investigation into the possible identification and arrest of the suspects./NC, WDJ
