Three Iloilo City wushu athletes were recently recognized for their achievements during the flag ceremony earlier this week at the City Hall.

Arnel Mandal took home a gold medal, while Russel Diaz earned a silver from the 1st Wushu Sanda Asian Cup. Mandal also won a silver medal at the World Wushu Championship 2017, where Francisco Solis won a bronze.

“We must celebrate for having competent athletes like them,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III. “They are good role models [for] other athletes.”

Mandal received a P35,000 cash incentive, Diaz was given P15,000, and Solis received P10,000./WDJ
