According to the Department of Labor and Employment-Region VI (DOLE-6), a total of 3,378 establishments were monitored and inspected for labor law compliance this year.
“We hope employers will work on their compliance on general labor, occupational safety, and health standards so that all workers will receive mandatory benefits,” said DOLE-6 Director Johnson Cañete.
The DOLE-6 Industry-wide Joint Assessments (IJA) also conducted inspections in all six provinces of the region, with a focus on Negros Occidental, where 1,584 establishments were checked.
According to Cañete, the inspections were one way to crackdown on companies engaged in unfair and unsafe labor practices./WDJ
