A man was stabbed to death while attending a wake at the Murcia Public Plaza on Sunday.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Ramero Taghoy, a resident of Purok Tayum-an, Barangay Sta. Rosa of the said municipality.
Initial investigations revealed the victim and the suspect, identified as Marjun Gallano, who police marked as a drug personality, engaged in a heated argument while playing cards.
Police said the suspect stabbed Taghoy with a pointed instrument, striking different parts of his body.
Witnesses added, both Taghoy and Gallano were under the influence of alcohol.
The victim was brought to the Murcia Rural Health Unit but was declared dead on arrival.
Recovered from the crime scene were a scabbard and a scarp veil, which were owned by the suspect.
The suspect, meanwhile, fled towards an unknown direction after the incident.
The Murcia Municipal Police Station is currently conducting a follow-up investigation and a hot pursuit operation for possible arrest of the suspect./NC, WDJ
