Based on recent data from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), the number of criminal incidents in Bacolod City significantly reduced during the recent Christmas holiday.
According to BCPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, between December 16 and 24, the office recorded a 41 percent decrease in incidents from last year, with 23 total incidents reported in the city.
“This week [was] highlighted with zero incidents [of] homicide, rape, and carnapping,” she said.
In terms of theft, the data shows a 73 percent drop in incidents, as the number decreased, from 22 incidents last year, to six this year.
Vargas, however, noted two murder incidents under Police Station 8; while Police Stations 1, 5, and 7 arrested five individuals on illegal firearms possession.
She added, BCPO remains on ‘full alert’ status and stations are presently conducting information drives in their areas of responsibility informing residents of the firecracker executive order, earlier signed by President Rodrigo Duterte./DGB, WDJ
