The Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco), the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (Noceco), and the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Noneco) all revealed they will be cutting electricity rates for December 2017.
Ceneco revealed rates will be around 66¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh) less than the prior month’s charge, dropping from a November 2017 rate of P10.6958/kWh to P10.0318/kWh this month.
Noceco revealed their rates will drop by P1.17/kWh, from P9.8384/kWh to P8.6652/kWh; while Noneco reported a reduction of 10¢/kWh.
Last month, Ceneco announced they would be providing refunds following a request by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to defer collections, after earlier authorizing an additional charge in light of a petition brought forward by the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation.
The deferment, however, is scheduled to expire next month.
In addition, an 8¢/kWh charge, originating from an ERC decision permitting Ceneco and the Korean Electric Power Corporation-Salcon Power Corporation to collect P232 million from consumer-members, was temporarily put on hold by Ceneco President Roy Cordova./DGB, WDJ
