Tropical Storm Urduja: PDRRMO: Damages total P3.64M in Aklan

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported yesterday, Tropical Storm Urduja left Aklan with P3.64 million in damages to the agriculture and fishery industries.
Their data reports P2.3 million of the reported damages were from infrastructure.
PDRRMO also reported flooding in nearly every barangay in Malay, where resort locale Boracay is located. They also reported a landslide in the town’s Barangay Balusbus.
On Monday, a landslide was also reported at Sitio Pook in Barangay Gibon, Nabas, Aklan, which forced those operating on local roads to detour through Pandan and Libertad, in Antique, if they need to travel through Malay.
Based on data provided by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council-Region VI (RDRRMC-6) and Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) on Monday, 349 Aklan families were evacuated, with 45 barangays reportedly flooded./PLL, WDJ
