A man was shot to death by unknown suspects at Sitio Batang in Barangay Talaban, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Jessie Flores, a resident of Tuyabang Bajo, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.

Following an initial investigation by the Himamaylan City Police Station, the victim, together with his companion Raymund Aguyong, were riding a tricycle to their workplace when they noticed they were going the wrong way.

Flores argued with the operator and his backrider.

Upon exiting the vehicle, the backrider shot Flores.

The victim was shot again when trying to grapple with the suspect, reports said.

Aguyong, meanwhile, managed to escape.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his left shoulder and upper right chest and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police are still conducting a hot pursuit operation into the identification and arrest of the suspects./NC, WDJ
