Bacolod City executive assistant, Atty. Edward Joseph Cuansing, yesterday announced city employees should expect a P25,000 bonus this month, an increase from last year’s P3,500.
He claimed the city was out of funds when Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia took office last year.
Cuansing said the amount is limited by the Department of Budget and Management, but insisted the city government would have liked to provide their employees with more.
He pointed out, the Commission on Audit (COA) also does not allow for bonuses above P25,000.
The executive assistant noted, besides the P25,000, city employees can also expect P5,000 from the Productivity Enhancement Incentive, along with an additional gift of P5,000.
Cuansing added, they are hoping the P25,000 is released this week./DGB, WDJ
