2017 Palarong Panlalawigan: NOPSSCEA sweeps secondary table tennis events

The Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA), or Area 8, which is bannered by Lopue’s-University of St. La Salle (USLS), recently swept the secondary level table tennis events at the 2017 Palarong Panlalawigan, which took place at the Lopue’s San Sebastian annex.

The boys’ team of Niel John Lauren, Elmer Locsin, Matthew Tolentino, and George Saligumba defeated Area 4, comprised of Bago City, La Carlota City, Pulupandan, Valladolid, San Enrique, and Pontevedra, in the finals. Meanwhile, the girls’ team of Micah Tanate, Gems Gellang, Stephanie Reign Villanueva, and Kylie Sophia Villanueva beat the same area to claim their title.

In the singles events, Tanate won the girl’s event by defeating teammate Kylie Sophia Villanueva; while Lauren beat Ken Andrie Memoria of Area 9, which is represented by Negros Occidental High School, in the boy’s event./PLL, WDJ
