The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently passed a resolution in support of hastening the bidding process for the construction of the Negros-Guimaras-Panay Bridge.
According to the resolution, the policy signifies support for the plans put forward by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Earlier this month, Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao affirmed during the Regional Development Council-Region VI (RDC-6) meeting in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, bidding for the proposed structure will commence towards the middle of 2018.
Back in July, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) President Frank Carbon, who also serves as operator of inter-island ferry company Weesam Express, voiced his opposition to the bridge, calling it a “burden [to] the next generation.”/JJA, WDJ
