The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is considering the establishment of an extension office in Dumaguete City, with SEC Director of Enforcement and Investor Protection Department Jose Aquino identifying the city among a list of possible locations for an extension office.
Aquino noted, the SEC seeks to partner with local government units in providing business permits in certain areas.
The SEC official added, he would like to see cities require corporations applying for business permits to first seek SEC registration, in an effort to ensure they are “corporations of good standing.”
