The Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA), or Area 8, currently leads the medal tally in both the elementary and secondary divisions of the ongoing 2017 Palarong Panlalawigan.

The area has a current tally of eight gold, nine silver, and six bronze medals in the elementary division; with Area 3, comprised of Victorias City, Silay City, Talisay City, EB Magalona, and Murcia, in second place with six gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals.

In the secondary division, Area 8 leads with 14 gold, seven silver, and four bronze medals; with Bacolod City, or Area 7, in second place with 10 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

NOPSSCEA earned most of their wins from swimming and archery./JSG, WDJ
