The La Carlota City government recently lifted the cease order issued against a Roxol Bioenergy Corporation ethanol plant, which was initially implemented last month following complaints from residents reporting a “foul and obnoxious odor.”
Based on a letter forwarded to parent company Roxas Holdings, Inc., the order was lifted following an inspection and verification which found the plant to be in compliance with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) standards.
Roxol, meanwhile, released a statement insisting on their commitment to ensuring the health of local residents.
The company also recently conducted a medical mission in the city’s Barangay Nagasi, where residents were provided free medical services, along with turning over four nebulizer machines and one sphygmomanometer to the local barangay health unit./DGB, WDJ
