The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) increased security at police stations throughout the province after police and army intelligence recently foiled a planned New People’s Army (NPA) attack on a police station in the province.
In a report by TV Patrol-Negros yesterday afternoon, NOPPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., said the NPA hired civilians to spy and take photos both inside and outside police stations.
Castil said stations are now being “threatened” after intercepting the new intelligence report.
The provincial police director noted, police stations in Hinoba-an, Moises Padilla, Bago City, and Cadiz City are “very vulnerable” to NPA attacks.
However, he stressed it is possible all police stations in the province are vulnerable and rebels are just looking for a weak spot.
In response to the intelligence report, Castil said they have now strengthened their coordination with the Philippine Army in order to counter threats posed by the NPA./DGB, WDJ
