During the recent College Press Awards at the Iloilo Convention Center, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director-General Harold Clavite told the gathered student writers to prevent the spread of misinformation.

“Tell your parents, your classmates, and your friends that misinformation can only be prevented if we all do our part to check what we tell other people,” he conveyed. “You have the power to equip your countrymen, and your neighbors in this region, the information they need.”

He also stressed a need for writers who observe ethical standards, especially with their use of social media./WDJ
