The leader of the notorious Rondoy robbery group was served a warrant of arrest for the crime of frustrated murder at his detention cell, Wednesday afternoon.
Alex ‘Rondoy’ Barredo attempted to shoot Police Officer 2 (PO2) Joash Bombat amid a police stakeout, during the suspect’s arrest last October.
The warrant was issued by Judge Ana Celeste Bernad of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 44, Bacolod City, dated November 23, 2017.
Bail is set at P200,000.
The suspect currently faces multiple charges, including violations of the Commission on Elections gun ban; RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Regulation Act; RA 9516 for illegal possession of explosives; and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Barredo was caught in a police dragnet operation for his involvement in a spate of robbery incidents in Bacolod City./NC, WDJ
