The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is ready to participate again in the campaign against illegal drugs, according to BCPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas.
“BCPO is ready,” Vargas affirmed. “We never stopped monitoring the activities of people involved in illegal drug trade.”
Earlier this week, President Rodrigo Duterte signed a memorandum reinstating the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the anti-narcotics campaign, however, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will still be the lead agency in conducting operations.
Last October, Duterte ordered the PDEA to take control of anti-illegal drug operations.
As of press time, the BCPO is still awaiting the memorandum from the national headquarters in Camp Crame./NC, WDJ
