The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently awarded certificate of land ownership awards (CLOAs) to 28 La Castellana farmers, designating tham as agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB).
21 ARBs will be based in the town’s Barangay Robles, each receiving 14.6-hectares of land; while another seven each received 4.5 hectares of land in Barangay Camandag.
La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor Manguilimutan reminded beneficiaries to not engage in the “arriendo” system, wherein awarded land is sold, transferred, or leased, as it is illegal and can lead to disqualification from the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Raul Borbon, meanwhile, reminded beneficiaries not to forget paying their annual amortizations to the Land Bank of the Philippines.
The distributed properties were formerly owned by Engracia Dominguez./DGB, WDJ
