The Philippine Association of Landscape Architects recently awarded the Iloilo River Esplanade as Best Landscape Design, beating out seven other finalists.

“[The] Esplanade is for all Ilonggos,” said Arch. Paulo Alcazaren, who designed the park that stretches from Diversion Road to Carpenter Bridge in the Mandurriao district of Iloilo City.

The structure has been linked to the Esplanade 2, located in the Molo district.

The five judges determining the award are all professionals in landscape design and architecture, operating in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia./WDJ
