The Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) yesterday issued a warning to the public regarding the rise of non-communicable diseases, particularly with the upcoming holiday season.
CHO Environmental Sanitation Division head, Dr. Grace Tan, said they are expecting a spike in the number of patients with cardiovascular problems, as well as those suffering from diabetes.
Tan advised the public to avoid eating too much oily, fatty, and sugary foods.
“It would be best that we regulate what we eat so we can prevent development of morbidity, sickness, and untimely death,” Tan said.
She also advised the public to eat substitutes, such as grilled fish and vegetables, and to exercise regularly./DGB, WDJ
