Speaking during a recent meeting of the Negros Association of Government Information Officers and Liaisons (NAGIOL), Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) head Karen Dinsay gave a list of successes of past NOSP recipients, including four medical doctors, 10 engineers, and 17 teachers.
She said the program currently has around 455 scholars, with the NOSP seeking to facilitate 11 scholars to study culinary courses in Australia.
In addition, the agency is also working to enable 10 students to study general health and automotive courses in Japan.
The program is intended to provide educational assistance to students from low income families, particularly those of farmers, sugarcane workers, and fisherfolk./WDJ
