For the second time, University of Antique (UA) will host the Region VI State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) Meet 2017 at UA-Main Campus, Sibalom, Antique on December 3-9, 2017.
The event involves 12 participating universities: Aklan State University (ASU), Capiz State University (CapSU), Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC), Central Philippine State University (CPSU), Guimaras State College (GSC), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU), Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF), Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC), Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONESCOST), University of Antique (UA), West Visayas State University (WVSU), and University of the Philippines-Visayas (UPV).
Spectators and participants have something to look forward to, for the battles will be tough since it is the comeback of some State Colleges and Universities from Negros Island and the University of the Philippines-Visayas to the SCUAA VI.
“One of the most memorable things every time Antique hosts big events such as this is the accommodation and hospitality of Antiqueños,” said Mr. Tito V. Gatchitorena, UA Sports Coordinator.
Hon. Alberto H. Kimpo, Director VI- Office of the Executive Secretary under the office of the President, will be the guest speaker during the opening program while Mr. Eddie M. Nuque, head of the AMA Foundation, will speak during the Solidarity night.
SCUAA is a part of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC).
This year marks the 50th foundation anniversary of PASUC with the theme, “At the Forefront of the Global Dynamics of Public Higher Education through Culture and the Arts”./WDJ
