Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., alongside 38 Provincial Capitol department and office heads, are currently in Sagay City for local economic development strategy planning, which was organized by the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) and the Provincial Economic Development and Investment Center (PEDIC).

“We have done so much for our province, but we have still many things to do,” said the governor.

“Let’s think like the Japanese,” he added. “Think about what’s good for the whole.”

MBCCI President Frank Carbon speculated “a change in our economic landscape” and said it would be best for officials to learn strategies early.

Meanwhile, former University of the Philippines professor, Dr. Aser B. Javier, yesterday discussed various topics at the event and is scheduled to conduct a workshop on strategy formulation today./WDJ
