Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday said he signed an executive order creating a technical working group (TWG) in order to address the proposed extension of operations by the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation (Bredco) for a local city port, which, based on an order signed last month, is seeking to extend operations by 25 years.
The option is available to Bredco, based on the Comprehensive Revised Reclamation Agreement (CRRA), which was signed between the company and the city government in 1995.
The mayor explained, a TWG is necessary in order to evaluate and assess the proposal.
The group will be composed of Secretary to the mayor, Atty. Edward Joseph Cuansing, who will serve as chairperson; Atty. Marian Therese Malan of the City Mayor’s Office; Engineer Nestor Velez of the Office of the Building Office (OBO); and Arlene Memoria of the Office of the City Treasurer./DGB, WDJ
