Hanah dominates taekwondo competition

The Bacolod City-based Hanah Taekwondo Gym earned a total 19 gold, two silver, and four bronze medals from this year’s Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) taekwondo competition, which recently took place at the Visayan Maritime Academy (VMA) Global College gym.

Among the gold medal winners included Lester Paolo Escasinas, Kaizerr Mohametano, Davon Pecha, Anton Guinanao, Joeffer Vincent Cabrera, Mary Angeline Alcantara, Kathleen Dinsay, Camille Andrea Miraflores, Shaira Isabel Garbanzos, Caroline Dean Espinosa, Angeli Lesaguis, and Arielle Legaspi.

In addition, Christian Dean Espinosa, Arney Czarene Barcoma, Ashley Chavez, Nea Marie Aplasca, Margarette Awacay, and Juliene Zapata excelled in the poomsae competition, which is comprised of the basic attack and defense motions associated with the martial art.

Meanwhile, other medalists included Ricah Mae Lesaguis and Aplasca, who took silver. While Creoz Agassi Celiz, Jaime Antonio Fantillo, and team poomsae competitors Dominic Fantillo, Zane Vincent Olivo, and Ethan Chavez took home bronze./JSG, WDJ
