At least seven homes were either destroyed or damaged after a fire broke out Friday night in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Based on investigations by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), a leftover candle is said to be responsible for the blaze after it quickly spread through the neighborhood as most of the houses are made of light materials.

No one was injured in the incident, although four homes were destroyed and three others were severely damaged.

The victims of the fire are temporarily being housed at the Barangay Rizal Hall, with the San Carlos City government providing relief goods for affected residents./DGB, WDJ
