A 32-year-old man was declared dead on arrival after he was gunned down by unidentified suspects in Barangay Damsite, Murcia, Negros Occidental, late Friday evening.

Police identified the fatality as Randy Mansueto, a resident of the said barangay.

Investigators from the Murcia municipal police said Mansueto’s remains were found inside a sugarcane plantation by a local resident, who contacted local police and emergency services.

Mansueto was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) but was declared dead on arrival after sustaining five gunshot wounds across his body.

Murcia police have yet to determine the motive behind the murder.

The victim’s parents, meanwhile, are urging police to immediately arrest the assailants once they are identified./DGB, WDJ
