Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. turned over P2.5 million in financial assistance last week to the municipalities of Pototan and Leon, intended for the implementation of two community development projects.

Among the projects the allocation will fund include a conference hall in Pototan.

“We decided to construct this hall since there is no building in the town that can host 200 people, aside from the coliseum,” said Iloilo Philippine Councilors League (PCL) President Licurgo Tirador.

The remaining funds will go towards the rehabilitation of the Sibalom River in Barangays Biri Sur and Omambong in Leon, which will include riprap work, or a stonewall foundation, in order to avoid river bank erosion.

Also in attendance were Pototan Mayor Tomas Peñaflorida and Leon Mayor Rolito Cajilig./JAN, MAA, WDJ
