The Iloilo City government was invited to attend this year’s Top Leaders Forum, set to take place on Wednesday, November 29, at the Conrad Manila in Pasay City.
“We are greatly honored to be invited [to] this forum,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III. “We will touch base with these groups to show to them Iloilo City is the new economic destination in Asia.”
The forum, hosted by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE) Philippines, and SM Prime Holdings, is expected to see both business leaders and public officials gather to discuss collaborations among the science and technology community, academe, the private sector, national and local government, and civil society.
Sessions are expected to cover topics including climate and disaster risk assessment in Taiwan, disaster leadership and governance, land use management, among others.
The forum will also launch the National Resilience Council (NRC) and Partnerships for Resilience./WDJ
