Following last Thursday’s deadly fire in Barangay Felisa in Bacolod City, Mayor Evelio Leonardia got in contact with Barangay Felisa Captain Ramon Jardin and Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) Social Welfare Officer IV Sally Abelarde to have victims be provided with financial assistance.
The mayor also met with families during memorial services.
“This is a heart wrenching story,” he said.
Four-year-old Arthur Diloy, three-year-old Agerico Diloy, Jr., and two-year-old Mary Auxencia Diloy were all killed after being trapped inside their burning home at Bangga Totong in the said barangay.
Based on an investigation by arson investigators, the children’s father, Agerico, a barangay tanod, locked the children inside their home prior to the incident as he had to report on duty as well as buy food for them.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has yet to determine the cause of the blaze./DGB, WDJ
