Batang Pinoy 2017: Bacolod City-LOPTTA picks up gold, silver in table tennis event

The Bacolod City-Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (Bacolod City-LOPTTA) team earned one gold and one silver medal last week during the 2017 Batang Pinoy-Visayas competition at the Negros Oriental Convention Center in Dumaguete City.

Micah Tanate won gold in the junior cadet girls’ singles event, while Kylie Sophia Villanueva took home silver in the mini cadet singles event.

The two, alongside teammates, doubles tandem George Saligumba and Stephanie Reign Villanueva, qualified for the National Batang Pinoy, scheduled to take place in February 2018 in Manila.

Last week, the LOPTTA-sponsored University of St. La Salle team won the secondary and tertiary divisions of the 2017 Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) table tennis competition at the Visayan Maritime Academy Global College gym./PLL, WDJ
