Negros Occidental PCSO budget depleted last month –Resolution

The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution during its regular session earlier this week requesting the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) central office to allocate funds to the city in order to provide medical assistance to low-income patients.
According to the resolution, authored by City Councilor Caesar Distrito, the request was made since the Negros Occidental PCSO budget was depleted as of last month.
The legislation notes, Negros Occidental PCSO officer-in-charge Jose Manuel Villagracia announced the agency was out of funds after spending P179 million between January and October of 2017.
In addition, the resolution noted an additional P6 million was previously awarded, which they characterized as “considerably not enough.”/DGB, WDJ
